At Castle Place Practice we believe in providing high quality personalised primary care. We believe that it is important for all our patients to know who is there registered GP and for their GP and nurses to be accessible. We work hard to provide a range of services as defined in our PMS contract with the NHS Commissioning Board.
As well as a source of information about our practice, the staff and the services we provide, we hope you will use this website as a useful resource for other health-related information. As the data controllers for your medical records, we are obliged to inform you of a new government initiative that allows NHS England to automatically extract data from your medical records for storage in the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC). It can then be shared outside of the Health and Social Care Information Centre but in an anonymised form.

The 111 service will help you to find the right care to meet your needs including the Devon doctors service.
This number is free of charge to ring from landlines and mobiles although you will need 1p credit on your mobile phone.
The Choose well campaign has been developed by Devon CCG to give people more information, to help you make the right decision on which services you choose based on your symptoms. This will help you access the right treatment and professional advice when you need it.
A&E Attendances - go to A&E for life threatening emergencies only
We were shocked to find out how much it costs every time one of us goes to A&E. The CCG and practice has been working really hard to reduce inappropriate attendances but there are still approximately 300 A&E attendances every month. Every time we go it costs the NHS between £56 and £245—even if you leave before you are seen
