Whooping cough cases increase

Cases of whooping cough (pertussis) reported to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in England and Wales have more than doubled from 421 cases in 2010 to 1040 in 2011. Levels of norovirus within seasonal norms

Extended Outpatient Sexual Health Service at Tiverton Hospital

Tiverton Hospital's sexual health service has extended its outpatient service. The service will now start from 4pm and run until 7pm. There is now a new drop in session between 4pm & 5pm. Please click here for more details.

Appointment & Triage System

We have been listening to patient's concerns and understand the frustration some have felt at being told to "ring back on the day" in order to book an appointment.

Our new system offers more pre-bookable appointment slots each day and all on the day requests for an appointment will receive a telephone call from the Doctor. The Doctor will assess whether you need to be seen or not. It may be appropriate for them to prescribe for you without an appointment, they may book you in to see one of the Practice Nurses, they may simply offer appropriate advice.

Carer/Support Identification Project
Castle Place is currently participating in a Devon Carers Link initiative aimed at improving our identification of our patients who are helping to look after someone. Click here for more information
