When We Are Closed
Devon Primary Care Trust is responsible for commissioning out of hours emergency services.
When the practice is closed, telephone 0845-6710-270. Your call will be answered by Devon Doctors on Call, which is a message handling service. They will contact the duty doctor who will telephone you. You will be offered one of the following:
- appropriate advice over the telephone
- to attend the treatment centre at Tiverton & District Hospital
- or a home visit if necessary
Please only use this facility in the case of an emergency.
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
